Philosopher’s Stone
Doctors revere Hippocrates, who believed that all diseases originated in the stomach and that garlic (an ancient prescription) was the remedy. Garlic has the most sulfur powder which may hold the key to the philosopher’s stone. Yes, medieval alchemists believed that sulfur (the elixir powder) was one of the primary compounds that could be used to create the philosopher’s stone. The other primary alchemy compounds of the Three Primes (Tria Prima) are Mercury and Salt.

In short, Sulfur, Mercury and Salt are said to be the soul, spirt, and body of any living thing – and in alchemy, everything in nature is seen as being alive, even stones, minerals and metals. Each being has a consciousness (Sulfur), intelligence (Mercury), and a physical form (Salt).
